HIHI
The HIHI kick-off event was very succesful. The first day of HIHI will be November 15. If you have any questions talk to Julie or Gill.

Upcoming Events

Haunted Dungeon
Chairs: Neil, Ronnie, Duncan, Jake, Pat
The dates for The Haunted Dungeon are October 27, 29, 30, and 31. Signs were put up in Starbucks, Cedarhurst Paper, stores downtown, and stores on Larkfield. If you know of anywhere else we can advertise please see one of the chairs. The set-up for the Hunted Dungeon will be on Saturday at 12:30 at the Trinity Episcopal Church downtown. Please bring supplies.

Little Flower
Chairs: Julie, Pat, Neil
Little Flower will take place on October 30 during school. Field trip cards were passed out at tonight's meeting. Please get them in a soon as possible.

SHANTY
Chairs: Glen, Alex, Alex, Marisa
SHANTY will take place on November 4. We need adult chaperones so please ask your parents and teachers. We need at least 1 adulty per 13/14 kids. Permission slips will be due a week before SHANTY. Extra permission slips and forms are outside the Students office. Start raising money (at least $75) and looking for your box.

Hunger Banquet
Chairs: Alex and Sam
There will be a meeting after school tomorrow in the cities room.

East Northport Rotary
East Northport Rotary is looking for six volunteers to serve food at their Clean Water for theorlds event on November 3 at 7: at theast Northport Christian Church. If you have any questions see Jacqui.

Nicaragua
Mr. Slagle booked the tickets for the February Nicaragua trip. The dates for February will definately be February 14-22.

Show
There will be a show at Jake's on November 3 from 6-10. Admission is $5 and all the funds will go to SHANTY.

Special Guests

Jobs with Justice
Jim from Jobs with Justice spoke at our meeting today. Jobs with Justice is a "coalition of community groups that challenges the route causes of injustice". He invited us to a demonstration this Saturday at 3pm at the Source mall in Westbury. They are planning on marching through the mall with workers, clergy, and elected officials to try and get workers at the mall fair pay and benefits. Someone form the 32BJ Union also spoke at tonight's meeting. This is a union that represents people who clean malls, residential areas, etc. They organize cleaners who are paid under minimum wage and/or have no health insurance. A custodian from the Smith Haven mall also spoke tonight about how hard it was to live on the money he is being paid.

T-Shirts
Chair: Tyler
A new idea for selling Students for 60,000 t-shirts was proposed at today's meeting. We can get them as cheap as $4 and maybe sell them for $10 to members of the club and the community. He will have more information at next week's meeting.
