Last Saturday's car wash was a great success! We managed to raise $1,100, a great kick off for the year. Thank you so much for everyone who contributed their time and helped out.
Students for 60,000 (SF60K)is a Northport high club founded in 1987 that is dedicated to providing aid care and support for the needy. Students participate in trips to homeless shelters and underfunded schools in New York City, where students can interact with people and deliver supplies. SF60K also raises money in a variety of ways, including, car washes, the Haunted Barn, a dinner and comedy night, and SHANTY, where students collect donations to sleep out side in cardboard boxes as a homelessness simulation. SF60K also takes trips to Nicaragua, to build houses, teach in the schools, and deliver clothes, school and medical supplies. On this trip students can also experience third world poverty, and interact with and understand the people who live there. Our club has one adult adviser, Bill Slagle a faculty member at Northport High School. Our club welcomes all and holds meetings on Tuesdays at 7 PM in the Little Theater at Northport high school during the school year. to contact SF60K call and leave a message at 631-262-6709 or write: Students For 60,000 154 Laurel Hill Road 11768 Northport, NY or visit: www.sf60k.org
